ANNIVERSARY OF PADRE PIO'S ORDINATION AND FIRST MASS

In the summer of 1910, the young Brother Pio was at home in Pietrelcina, suffering from an illness that made life in the convent impossible. It was feared he might die, so he received a dispensation to attend Mass earlier than scheduled. It was August 10th.
