Padre Pio considered Christmas the most beautiful celebration of the year and had a deep love for the nativity scene.

A room once owned by the Forgione family—originally used as a shelter for animals—now houses a magnificent 18th-century-style Neapolitan nativity scene, crafted by the Fratelli Capuano workshop of San Gregorio Armeno. Located directly across from the Forgione family kitchen, the display features not only traditional nativity scenes but also figures significant to Padre Pio’s life and spirituality. Among the shepherds gathered around the manger, you can, for example, recognize Saint Francis and Pope John Paul II.
